Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain. The plantar fascia is a strong band of tissue that connects your heel bone to your toes. It supports the arch of your foot and acts as a shock-absorber for your foot. Irritation and inflammation can occur from tearing or repetitive use.

Most common in middle-aged people plantar fasciitis plagues about 1 in 10 people. It is twice as common in women as it is in men. When damaged the tissue heals very slowly.

The treatment is most of the time considered conser-vative treatment unless more severe problems arise.
